Description
Uwharrie Point is a private, 950 acre, golf and recreational community
located on 5,300 acre Badin Lake in Montgomery County, North Carolina.
It is adjacent to the Uwharrie National Forest and in the foothills of
the Uwharrie Mountains. This area of North Carolina is referred to
as the Piedmont. The Uwharrie Point community will consist of 630
properties at completion.
Location
The Community is located in central North Carolina 50 miles from
Charlotte, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem, 40 miles from High Point (the
furniture capital of the world), 20 miles from Albemarle and 95 miles
from Raleigh. Pinehurst, the nation's golfing capital is a little
over an hour away. The beautiful Western North Carolina mountains
and the wide beaches and warm water of the Atlantic Ocean are only a few
hours away.
Access
The Community is conveniently located off Highway 49 which connects
Charlotte and Asheboro. The Stanly County Airport in Albemarle
which provides service by private aircraft is just a 20minute drive.
You can reach the Charlotte Douglas International Airport in
approximately one hour. Charlotte provides international service
and is a hub for USAirways. Greensboro's Piedmont Triad International
Airport is a little over one hour away.

The Community is a private, gated residential community with 24 hour
controlled access
The Developer
Uwharrie Point, home of the Old North State Club, is being developed by
Uwharrie Point Associates, an East West Partners Company.
Golf Amenities
The Championship golf course, designed by Tom Fazio, is the focal
point of the Old North State Club. The course was completed in
1992 and has since been recognized as one of the top courses in the
nation and the state. For the ninth year in a row, the Old North
State Club at Uwharrie Point was selected the best private course in
North Carolina by North Carolina Magazine's panel of noted golf
professionals and sports writers. What's more, finishing hold
number's 17 & 18 were chosen as the best par 3 and best par 5 in the
state. The course was recognized by Golf Digest as
one of the top two new private courses in America for 1993.
GOLFWEEK magazine chose the Old North State Club golf course as
one of the best in America. Golf Digest magazine
voted the Old North State Club as one of the top ten courses in North
Carolina in 1995, 1997, 1999 and 2000.

The Club is proud to host the Atlantic Cost Conference Men's Golf
Championship in 2006. The Club has hosted this event nine previous
times and also hosted the North Carolina Amateur in 1997.
Clubhouse
The Club's magnificent lakeside Clubhouse overlooks the 18th hole and
Badin Lake. The amenities include a dining room, a covered terrace
patio, a parlor bar with fireplace, a superb full-service free standing
golf shop and men's and women's lounges. |
